Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is recognized internationally as a leading university in the areas of the technical and the natural sciences, renowned for business-oriented approach and high focus on sustainability. The National institute of Aquatic Resources (DTU Aqua) works for well-functioning oceans, rivers, and lakes where biodiversity can thrive. DTU Aqua’s education contribute to the development of a sustainable blue bioeconomy, robust aquatic ecosystems, and reduced effects of climate change.

The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) serves society with meteorological knowledge and data within the Commonwealth of Denmark, the Faroe Islands and Greenland with surrounding waters and airspace. The tasks cover weather, climate and the ocean and range from issuing weather forecasts and warning of dangerous weather to producing ice information for Greenland and developing future climate scenarios for use in climate adaptation in Denmark.

Tanzania Meteorological Agency (TMA) is a government agency responsible for the provision of meteorological services; weather forecasts, climate services and warnings and advisories information for the country. TMA’s mission is to provide quality, reliable and cost effective meteorological services to stakeholders' expectations thereby contributing to the protection of life and property, environment and national poverty eradication goal.

University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) is the oldest and biggest public university in Tanzania. It is situated on the western side of the city of Dar es Salaam. Institute of Marine Sciences (IMS) is located in Zanzibar and has the vision to become an international centre of excellence in research and development, training and provision of scientific services in marine sciences and technology for better exploration, exploitation and management of coastal and marine living and non-living resources.

Tanzanian Fisheries Research Institute (TAFIRI) is a public institution under the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries. The Institute was established to promote, conduct, and coordinate fisheries and aquaculture research in Tanzania. TAFIRI has the vision to become a strong centre of excellence in fisheries research and consultancy in the Eastern and Southern Africa and the mission to promote, conduct and manage fisheries research and consultancy for sustainable development of fisheries in Tanzania.
